Create trust and visibility

Leveling up as a creative means increasing your scope and autonomy. Your relationships with your manager and leaders above you are critical to your ability to operate more independently and find opportunities for greater impact. 

Often, we jump into these relationships without creating a foundation for connection and trust with intention. A successful collaboration starts with knowing yourself and clarifying your own needs. Then you can create norms for communication and feedback with your manager. 

In this 90 minute workshop, learn how to build effective alliances with your manager and other leaders above you.

 

Managing Up:

  • is a live, remote workshop (sessions will not be recorded)

  • requires a 90 minute time commitment

  • is appropriate for all levels and roles (all industries and backgrounds are welcome)

  • includes access to the Design Dept. Slack community for ongoing discussion, support, and learning from other leaders

  • provides you with a digital workspace for workshop exercises 

  • equips you with tips and techniques for building a healthy, collaborative partnership with your manager

  1. What should I do to facilitate a healthy partnership?

  2. How do I build trust with my manager?

  3. How do I communicate what I need to my manager?

  4. How can I manage up effectively?

Individual contributors and Managers (all levels and roles)


Workshop size minimum

This workshop minimum is 15 participants. If we do not receive the minimum registrations before the class begins, you will have the choice to reschedule for another workshop or receive a full refund.

Cancellation policy; remote events

We understand that plans can change and your workshop may have to wait.

If Participant’s plans change, or if any adjustments from in-person to remote Workshops will not work for Participant,  Participant shall email DD at hello@designdept.co as soon as possible. While we cannot transfer Participant’s Workshop ticket or allow for substitutions should you wish to cancel, we may be able to help you with a refund according to the following timelines:

  • Notice given to DD two (2) or more months before the workshop: Registration is 100% refundable.

  • Notice given to DD less than two (2) months but more than one (1) month before workshop: DD will refund 50% of Participant’s registration fee.

  • Notice given to DD less than one (1) month before workshop: Registration is non-refundable.

This policy is subject to change. DD will notify registered participants of any changes to this policy.
